The case
It is Sunday night. The monthly investor update is due, the numbers live in three exported CSVs, and tomorrow's partner meeting needs a one-pager on a competitor who just raised. There is no analyst to hand this to. There is Wavn.
The numbers, cleaned and combined
The three CSVs go into the chat with one line: "Combine these into a monthly metrics sheet — revenue, burn, runway, with a chart tab." The back room reads all three, normalises the dates, builds the workbook, checks the totals, and lands it as a card. What it assumed — which export was the source of truth where they overlapped — it says out loud.
The update, drafted from the sheet
"Now draft the investor update from that sheet — honest about the slow month, one paragraph per metric." The draft comes back as a document, built from the real numbers just computed, not from memory of them.
The competitor one-pager, researched
"One page on their raise — who led, what they claim, what it means for us." The research runs with real sources behind it. Where the public record is thin, the page says the record is thin — an unknown drawn as unknown, not padded with plausible guesses.
The follow-ups, captured before they escape
"Remind me Thursday at 9 to chase the two investors who didn't reply." Set, confirmed, on the schedule. The confirmation means it happened — Wavn does not say "done" from intent.
What the founder walks away with
A metrics workbook, a drafted update, a sourced one-pager and a reminder that will actually fire — from one evening's chat, each one checked before it landed, each one honest about what it assumed and what it could not know.
Why it fits this stage: a founder cannot afford work that looks finished but is quietly wrong. Wavn's one rule — never claim work it did not do — is worth more before the first hire than at any other moment.
